Saltine Chocolate Brittle

Nabisco Saltines

More on the theme of sweet tempered with savory:

1 sleeve saltine crackers (not low sodium!)
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 pack milk chocolate chips
chopped pecans
 
Cover cookie sheet with foil
Lay out saltines side by side covering bottom of pan
Boil butter and sugar for 3 minutes 
Pour over crackers
 
Bake at 350°  for 15 minutes
Sprinkle chips over top immediately, let melt for 1 minute
Spread chocolate to cover
Sprinkle with pecans to taste 
 
When cool, break into pieces
 
This recipe comes from a client via her office.  It spread through like wildfire and is well loved for its simplicity as much as its flavor.
