Aura’s Blue/Cranberry Sauce

cranberry

1 bag fresh cranberries

1 pack blueberries

1 bottle hard (alcoholic) cider

2 cups sugar

throw it all in a sauce pan (make it bigger than you think you need so you don’t have any boil-over!)

simmer one hour, stirring often

strain through mesh colander or cheesecloth

serve with poultry or ham, over baked brie, or a slab of cream cheese

Other ideas:

instead of or in addition to one of the other berries: pomegranate seeds

instead of cider: pomegranate juice or champagne
